Sorry I'm so late in responding and thank you for your efforts to get us together.  Let me know if I can be of help.  You've got my address and E-mail correct.  My wife's name is Fran.  Best wishes.  Gary

Starting at graduation from high school, I spent my summers with the Forest Service as a Smokejumper while attending college.  I served a mission in the North Central States which included Minnesota, the Dakotas and Manitoba.  I joined the Utah National Guard and spent a year in Denver going to a radar gun-sight school and worked on the F-86 when back in Salt Lake City at the National Guard Base there.  I worked for three years living in Bountiful for the Sperry Rand Corporation as an electronic technician.

Fran and I were married in 1959 and I decided, if she went to work, I could go back to school.  Fran is a lovely southern bell and continues to be my joy.  She has pushed me in good directions over the years.  I finished my Bachelor's Degree in 1962 and began teaching Seminary in Bountiful for three years.  I went back to school to complete my Master's Degree in 1965.  During this time I also taught Book of Mormon classes at BYU.

We moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, after teaching seminary for a year in Layton.  We stayed at the New Mexico State University for three years while I finished my doctorate in psychology.  By this time we had adopted three children, Jeff, Connie and Jill.

After completing school we moved to Ely, Nevada, where I worked doing research for the eastern Nevada school districts. After only a years there, we moved to Fallon, Nevada, where I worked as an elementary school psychologist for three years.  Next we moved to Rockwood, TN, where I worked as the Director of Counseling and Testing for a small Community College.

We moved to Cedar City in 1979 and have lived her since, believe it or not.  (It must seem that we have been run out of town a lot after reading our history.)

In addition to my work at Southern Utah University, I've maintained a private practice over the years.  I retired from the University last year but continue to do psychological evaluations for various agencies. I found I didn't want to continue providing psychotherapy and left that to younger persons.

So that's where we've been.  I have belonged to the Kiwanis Club, boy scouts, and numerous other types of service organizations.  For fun, I've done a number of things such as flying (I'm presently the squadron commander of the Cedar City Squadron, Civil Air Patrol), boating, skiing, hiking through Zion Canyon and other beautiful spots, etc.  My little brother, Ned, and I greatly enjoyed going to rendezvous for several years until he passed away.  Music has played an important part of my life and I have been in active in several choirs over the years and even bought a grand piano which I and the grandkids enjoy.

That's about it.  Fran and I look forward to seeing all of you.  Ya'll have been an important part of my history and I often reflect on the experiences we went through together. You are all much, much appreciated.  I've been pleased to read of your joys and challenges throughout our post high school lives.

Vaya Con Dios.  Love,  Gary and Fran
