Spouse: Gary
Diane checked in recently with a quick phone call to give us an update. Her husband, Blair, passed away a year ago and we all send her our condolences. They were married 48 years.
On a lighter side, Diane reports that she is a new bride and is off on a cruise to Alaska. Diane, we'll look forward to some good stories, more updates, and lots of pictures.
May 2 - Had a long phone conversation with Diane. She has a new name and address. Her husband died after a long illness, and last year she married Gary Bradford of Spanish Fork. The newlyweds live in Orem and are enjoying life traveling in their 'Fifth-wheel' and also taking cruises - they went to Alaska last year on their honeymoon. Will look forward to getting Diane's full bio and pictures. She also threatened to get her computer hooked up so she could join us on line.
More from Diane: What have I been doing the last 50 years?
Well, like most of you, after graduation I married (Blair Beckstrom) and raised a family (2 girls and 2 boys)
I worked some (in the old Payson Hospital Physical Therapy department and at the Lakeshore School as a Music Aid.
Like lots of you, I've served in various positions in the church. Mostly music. I also had the privilege of working in the Provo temple for 3 years. At the present time I am a substitute organist in the St George temple. I am also a volunteer at the hospital.
Like a few of you, I lost my spouse of 47 years. That was in July 2001. I settled into my Saint George house and chose to serve a six month mission in the Member Location Center while I was recovering and deciding what to do with my life. This was on of the best decisions I ever made. During this time I went on a blind date. . . Imagine this at age 66. . . with Gary R. Bradford. We believe we were led to each other by our two Guardian Angels. Gary had been alone for two years. Now, unlike most of you who are celebrating fifty years of marriage, Gary and I are celebrating our First.
For the most part I'm very satisfied with the blessings and opportunities that have been mine. There are a few things I'd change if I could. . . Don't we all have some of these "things"?
As we grow older we finally begin to realize what is important and so my wish for all of you isn't tons of money as I may have wished in High School, but for tons of Good Health.
I hope all of you are looking forward as eagerly as I am to our 50th Year Class Reunion.
See you there.
