Sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your card, but it came when we were having some problems here. My wife had a major heart attack, and I had a small stroke, both at the same time. We are both recovering, but we are all fine.

Our address is the same as on the card you sent which is 4417 South 4600 West, West Valley City, UT 84120. We have lived here for thirty-three years. My phone number is 801-968-0074. I have no e-mail address.

I will try to make my personal history as shore as possible so as not to bore you too much. After High School, I worked for Safeways for a couple of years, then I went into the Army. There years active duty and three in the reserve. I took basic training at Fort Ord, CA. The second eight I took at Fort Belvoir, Va. Spent six months thre. Wen on a Stake mission while there. Met Pres. Benson several times.

From there I was sent to Korea for about fourteen months. I was stationed at Incheon, it was about sixteen miles south of the 38th parallel. I was in the 116th Combat Corps of Engineers. Had some close calls.   When I came back to the states I was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.

I had met my future wife a few months before I went into the service. She was a BYU student. She was for Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. Her name was Kathleen Shirley Morrsen She waited for me to come back from Korea. We were married in the Cardston Temple in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

When I was separated from the Army we came down to Salt Lake City to Live. I went back to work for Safeways for two more years, then I went to Dan’s Foodtown for four more years. In 1966 I got out of the grocery store profession. I then went to work for Trane Air Conditioning Co. I worked for them for fifteen years until they left the state. In the meantime, I went to Salt Lake Trade Tech College and received an Associates degree - majored in Auto Mechanics.

Over the years I have worked in two delearships and several independent shops. The last ten years I have been with Goodyear.

Also, over the years we have managed to have six children - three boys and three girls. The youngest girl fulfilled a mission to Brazil. We had one son die in 1989 from an accident. We also have thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Over the years I have held several different callings in the church. I was Ward Mission Leader and a Teacher in the High Priest Quorum until I had my stroke.

In spite of our health problems right now, we are fine and are still hanging out with each other even after fourty-three years. That’s something nowdays - right?

If at all possible we will be at the reunion next year. Thanks for sending me the card.

Don Morrison.
