Greetings from Ivins, Ut.

For those who don't know it is just outside of St. George, near the entrance to Tuacahn and Snow Canyon State Park. Pearl and I have been here for about 8 years. I am one of the sport coordinators for the Huntsman World Senior Games. It is a very busy and exciting experience. I help set up and coordinate for the tournaments in softball, bowling and basketball. It takes most of the year to prepare for the two week event.

We came here after I retired from teaching high school for 32 years, mostly in So. California. I also coached during those years in baseball, basketball and even soccer. I taught Spanish all those years. Maybe the most memorable experiences would be the tours to Mexico that we took my students on. We had many visits with them to Mexico City, Taxco, Cholula, The pyramids, bull fights, jai alai matches, Balet Folklorico and on and on. Pearl and I also had the opportunity to return to Argentina and Chile where I labored as a missionary back in the 50's. We were able to meet with children and grandchildren of some of the people we had baptized way back then. We also visited the ruins of Machu-Picchu high in the Andes of Peru. It was an incredible trip.

Pearl and I have 4 living children, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They are a joy..so much more talented and smarter than we who came before. One just returned from Vina del Mar, Chile, where I help open up back in l957.

Pearl and I are in Payson often as her mom and dad still live there. It is amazing that these 50 years have passed so rapidly. It will be great to see everyone this fall.

I remember so many things. Our 37-0 win over Spanish Fork. The only win our senior year. Those great days on the ball field with Jones, Butler, Dunford, Buys Cartwright, Cox, et al. You guys come to St. George.... We have 2 65+ softball teams and play twice a week...even in the winter.

And I remember one more very important thing..we really liked each other and had a great time just being kids.
