It was nice hearing from you and I appreciate the time you are spending to make our 50th reunion special.  It is hard to believe 50 years have past unless we look in the mirror.  The memories of school and our wonderful classmates are still precious to me.
After high school I went to Salt Lake City and attended LDS Business College.  Then I married Richard Spackman and worked in a doctors office to help him through school at BYU.
After BYU Richard entered the Air Force and I was an Air Force Wife for the next 10 years.  We moved to many different areas in the service but spent most of the time at Fort Worth Texas.  We enjoyed our time there very much and liked the people.
At Carswell AFB in Fort Worth Richard was a B52 pilot and I had the experience of sending my husband off to war as his unit was the first to fly the B52 against Viet Nam.  He was gone for long periods of time and I learned to be pretty independent as I had the responsibility of our 3 children alone.
When Rich finally got home the last time we felt the children hardly knew him so he left the Air Force and went to work for United Air Lines so we could improve our family time.  It was great.  We were with United until he reached age 60 the mandatory retirement age for pilots.  We lived for 10 years in the San Francisco Bay area and a couple of years in Virginia but most of the rest of the time we lived where we live now in a suburb of Denver.  We wanted to be near the mountains and it is a lot like home.  We had a lot of good experiences and trips as a family and as a couple during our airline years.
We have a daughter and two sons and eight grandchildren.  We also claim our Apache foster daughter, who with her husband and 3 children, still consider us family also.
We have been active in the Church and I have held ward and stake callings working in all auxiliaries but most often in the Relief Society.  We served a proselyting mission as a couple in the England London Mission.  We have precious friendships in England now.
Our family has always had a love for adventure so my life has been filled with many exciting and enjoyable experiences.  My favorite sport is skin diving and we have done that in a few places but nothing compared with what Jerry L. writes about on the web site.  I also enjoy white water rafting, camping, traveling, sightseeing, ocean cruises, cooking, reading, and most of all being with my family as often and as much as possible.
We are ordinance workers in the Denver Temple.  It is a rewarding and wonderful calling and we love every minute of it.
We plan to be at the reunion.  It will be great.  Everybody please be there.
Maureen
