Today is June 29 and I had time to check the website and was very surprised at what I found.  It really brought a smile to my face to read the emails that you had posted and a tear to my eye when reading the names of those that have passed on.   You have my address right 7710 Liberty St, Corona Ca 92881,  my married name is Sally Wright Jensen and my husband's name is Floyd.  Our phone # is 909 735 2881 and our email is FRJ2SJJ @ aol.com.   I will not take time to do my bio now . I will have to give it some deep thought.  Which means I will have to let my husband read it before I send it.  He believes that I  tend to be to brief,  he of course writes way too much but I noticed reading some of the other email's you have that seems to be a tendency .  It seems that the wives have to remind the husbands not to write a book.  So I will close for now.  One more thing Jerry,  I really thought that what you did on the 25th Reunion book was excellent.  This website is really exciting.  Thank you Jerry for your time and effort.

Jerry:  I believe we do not have your complete e-mail address, but am sending this out and possibly it will catch up to you.

This is just not happening, is it?  The Payson class of '53 has logged 50 (almost) years since graduation.  As I look out my office windows, my mind wanders back to the "Good Old School Days".  Wasn't it just last week we were all excited freshmen, looking ahead to being "SENIORS".  Now we look back, smile, reflect and recall the long road we traveled up to this stage in our lives.

I am sure the road we all traveled since graduating, has, for many, some detours, steep hills, pleasant valleys and at times the road wasn't really too smooth.  The road I traveled after graduation took me to Sears in Provo, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and made a stop (pleasant one I must say) in Santa Rosa, Calif.  It was there in April of '66 that Floyd Jensen (formally of the Navy and Iowa) and I became one family.  We were married in a lovely home wedding of fellow Sears employees.  My brother came up from La Mirada, Calif., to give me away.  It was the policy of Sears that man and wife couldn't be with the same store, so we hit the road and came to Southern California.  I started working for the Gourmet Concessions area of the old Broadway stores, and was there until the road took another turn towards Hollywood. The owner of the Brown Derby had taken over Gourmet Concessions, then the Broadway stores closed, and I went to work with the Brown Derby in Hollywood. This was quite the experience, and as time went by the owner of the Derby asked if I thought Floyd would be interested in working for him.  After 22 years with Montgomery Wards, Floyd and I both got involved with the Derby both in the Pasadena area and also Hollywood.  Those were exciting times--the stars we met, the dinners we put on, and just the restaurant business in itself.  Only trouble was we were living in Corona at that time and we had to commute to Pasadena and Hollywood 6 days a week.  You could say that the age did come into the picture so we gave it all up.  I have been with this company now for about 16 years

We have been here in Corona about 30 years already, and we still commute the freeways daily.  I gave my boss a time schedule in that I would only work another 20 months and then Floyd and I are going into our second retirement and take in some of the other roads that we haven't traveled since I graduated.  Was the road since Graduation that rough?  I don't think so.  There had been several direction changes but a very interesting trip these last 49 plus years.  We are enjoying our rural living here in Corona.  We have a nice yard---no grass, just plants and shrubs and the back is full of a large pool and spa.  We enjoy our two God-Daughters here in Corona, and one in Oregon, and one in Iowa.

I had not thought that this would be so wordy, and hope you can accept it in good spirits.  I am not sure of your address.  I misplaced it, and may have to forward this to another classmate I had just seen the e-mail address and hopefully he will forward it to you.  Sally Wright Jensen

June 3rd - Update on Sally - From her husband Floyd.    I really thank everyone for bearing with me for my last evenings long long message.  Sally is something else.  I am leaving for the hospital a little after 7:00 this morning, and getting into my car, and I can hear the phone ringing.  Yes it was HER calling letting me know she was waiting for me.  She had been up and nothing better to do than call me.  Had had a little bit of a problem from 11 PM till about 3 AM and then finally got to sleep, but was woke up early in the am for her breathing treatment.  I hope that I don't make this as long as last nights, so will type fast.  We went walking several times today.  Didn't get around the whole hospital.  She had been walking before I got there at 8 or so, and then we went 3 times around the bed and out into the hall.  I said that when we got the to wall across from her room  (680 room number) she should pound on the wall.  The first time she only scratched it a little, but I told her she could be more mean and pound on the wall.  The other two times she did as was commanded as a good wife she is.....This afternoon we only made it to the hall wall a couple times.  Had put her to bed, and then did get her up by herself---mostly my help.  She is on one pill that makes her so sleepy.  The doctor had not been in this evening so I couldn't ask questions (yes, Lindy, I am trying, but they kick me out too soon)  The best news is that she may come home this Wednesday or Thursday-----I thank my God all times that he is taking care of her--never mind me. Better make this short.  Just wanted you all to know she is coming along quite well.  Nephew Mike came in this evening for awhile which really perked Sally up.  Again if I misspelled anything it is just the way I am.  Love to all and thanks for all prayers. Floyd

June 24th Update on Sally.   Have to let you know that Sally won't be able to attend the reunion this year.  After undergoing 4 (plus) by-pass on the 30th of May, and coming home not quite one full day over the 5 & 6th of June, I had to take her back to emergency at the hospital, where she has been in ICU till this afternoon when they finally transferred her to a room out of ICU.  Sunday afternoon 6/22 she got the tube out of her throat but was having a hard time talking--vocal cords need help.  Today when I got in this evening to her new room, she was talking a little better and having more meals that weren't all liquid.  She has appreciated all the up-dates you have sent on the reunion and I print them all so we can go over them when she gets home to me.  Thanks for the up-dates.  Floyd.
